In 2023, we will be leaving behind some worldwide occurrences, such as COVID, raw material scarcity, and logistics chain disruption, that forced companies to transform and make a leap in terms of digital preemption.

Companies had to evolve toward digitalization, setting the stage for the adoption of  new technologies and tools that were once thought to be exclusively for personal use or for small-scale freelance work — or even some whose existence was not known by companies.

The idea of this article is to emphasize five of these technologies that already have millions of users around the globe and are disrupting the way work is delivered. Implementing them early in 2023 is a great way to kick off the year, simplifying and automating our daily jobs.

So, with no more preamble needed, here are the Top 5 Productivity-Boosting Technologies for Companies in 2023:

  1. Text creation by AI

The first and most trendy technology in the second half of 2022, topping  5 million users in the first week of launching (more than Instagram or Facebook), is the expression of what artificial intelligence is now able to perform in creating human-like texts. It’s called ChatGPT and here is what you get when you ask it to define itself:

"GPT" (short for "Generative Pre-training Transformer") is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) model developed by OpenAI that is designed to generate human-like text. It is a type of language model that uses machine learning techniques to generate natural language text that is coherent and resembles human writing.

The environment of the chat is rather minimalistic, similar to a simple chat (https://chat.openai.com/chat):

There are other technologies with a similar purpose like www.jasper.ai/ that focuses on marketing content and has the same parent company as ChatGPT.  They are making humans wonder if it will ever be necessary to write articles again or if we should leave the writing tasks to artificial intelligence.

If your work involves text creation, for any given purpose, it’s worth giving ChatGPT a shot, and it will probably save hours of your time in 2023.

  1. Presentation decks shortcut

One important quality of managers is learning the things that need to be done, but more important is to perceive the actions that need to be stopped. With tools like Visme, Canva, Crello, Stencil and others, it’s no longer necessary to spend time enriching the looks of presentation decks, infographics, graphs, social media posts, videos, or even printables.

For example,VISME is highly performant and user friendly:

Easy to use and with many features, these tools are huge time-savers for companies working on interesting decks and presentations. So, let’s stop building everything up from scratch and take advantage of what these companies have already developed.

  1. Fast training

Following the so-called Great Resignation, a post-COVID phenomena that occurred when 4 million people quit their jobs in April 2021 in the US. It’s no hidden secret that training newcomers is definitely a challenge, especially if companies are not prepared or lack the right tools to document their processes.

To protect enterprises from future resignations effects, and to have robust processes and faster integration, there are some tools already available online. They are called, basically, “Auto-generated step-by-step guides,” which means we can have procedures written and the screen recorded while we perform them.

Some examples are Scribe, Dubble and Folge. They are intuitive, have great user interfaces and can be learned on the go:

  1. Robot automation

Technologies that automatically extract information from diverse applications for different uses have been around since the early 2000s. Nevertheless, we are aware of the manual and repetitive workload companies still face every day.

Nowadays, these technologies have evolved beyond simple scraping and have proved to provide impressive returns on investment in areas like accounting, reporting, social media, supply chain, treasury, or any area with repetitive processes.

The abbreviation adopted is RPA (Robotic Process Automation), with some of the main players being:

  • UiPath

  • Automation Anywhere (image below)

  • Blueprism

If your teams or you still have low-added-value tasks to perform on your computers for 2023, these robots are the best option to do them for you.

  1. Digital Signature

Also known as eSignature and popularized during COVID when it became astonishingly difficult to get all the signatures for contracts and documents, as no one was in their offices or even in their cities.

We cannot call this one rocket science, but the adoption rate was slow until the pandemic and we still find ourselves signing some specific contracts with pen and paper.

Many alternatives are now available:

  • Docusign (image below)

  • PandaDoc

  • SignNow

  • SignEasy

  • YouSign

Let’s disrupt our way into 2023 with some of (or all) the Top 5 tools, while acknowledging the existence of many others. They will help us boost productivity and definitely transform the way we plan to work.

Let’s go for it and enjoy the digital transformation ride!
