Q: What specific challenges in hospital logistics and medication management does the company solve for its clients?

A: We assist in automating hospital and extra-hospital pharmacies to achieve efficiency, control, and traceability. We implement controls and optimize processes from the moment medications and medical supplies arrive at the hospital until they are administered to the patient. We optimize and automate everything within this process, generating significant efficiencies in the consumption and expenditure of medications.

Our second priority relates to compounding centers. We provide consultancy services for any hospital, whether public or private, that plans to build or upgrade a compounding center. If required, we can build the center, manage civil works, install equipment, and provide the software to operate the center efficiently.

Q: What is the primary challenge that Healthcare Motion Corp can address for Mexican patients?

A: The public sector is facing difficulties in ensuring patient access to medications for various reasons such as shortages. Our solution adds significant value by maximizing the utilization of medications within hospitals and minimizing waste. Waste can occur in multiple ways: through expired medications, overstocking, or inefficient handling. Within the hospital pharmacy, we address this by providing unit-dose packaging. Commercial medication is automatically repackaged into precise doses in accordance with regulations. For example, if a patient requires seven tablets of a medicine and the commercial package contains 10, our system ensures that only the seven tablets are delivered.

We estimate that this approach can reduce medication consumption and costs by between 20% and 40%. Our software, eMotion, ensures that patients receive the correct medication at the correct dose and time, preventing errors and reducing wastage. In public hospitals, where patients often do not pay for medications, these efficiencies are particularly valuable, enabling them to do more with fewer resources.

Q: How does Healthcare Motion Corp address hospitals’ resistance to change?

A: There is always resistance to change, especially when users are asked to alter established workflows. It is common for personnel accustomed to long-standing practices to initially resist more efficient methods. However, end-users and decision-makers generally show minimal resistance, as they seek operational improvements. The challenge lies in explaining the value of new processes until they are implemented. Once adopted, the efficiencies gained are substantial and sustainable over the long term.

Q: How has Healthcare Motion Corp evolved since entering the Mexican market?

A: We initially offered hospitals with our pneumatic tube system. These systems allow medications to be transported throughout the hospital using pressurized capsules in PVC ducts, reducing the need for personnel to move medications manually. This solution, which has been in use for 37 years in Mexico across more than 450 hospitals, laid the foundation for our current offer. Our two principal value propositions are the automation of pharmacy and unit-dose systems, as well as the construction and operation of compounding centers.

Q: What is your value proposition for Mexico’s public and private sectors?

A: The value proposition differs between the public and private sectors. In the public sector, medications are provided free of charge by the government, whereas in the private sector, patients bear the cost of medications. Consequently, our offerings are tailored to meet the specific needs of each sector.

For the coming year, one of our priorities is to complete the value proposition for private hospitals, ensuring that our solutions fully address their requirements and facilitate operational efficiency.

Q: What are Healthcare Motion Corp’s priorities for the next few years?

A: Our objective is to empower healthcare professionals to focus on what matters most: their patients. We view ourselves as strategic partners to the teams operating hospitals. We maintain clear alignment on objectives, which are then translated into actionable plans for directors and management. At the end of the year, our success is measured by the achievement of these goals, including sales targets and operational milestones.

We are also upgrading our software based on lessons learned from clients over the years, while strengthening our project implementation office to ensure successful delivery. Ultimately, the measure of a successful year is how closely we achieve the predefined objectives across all areas.

Healthcare Motion Corp is a Mexican company with over 37 years of experience providing integrated hospital solutions, including pharmacy and compounding center management, supply chain optimization, and traceability services. It supports more than 450 hospitals nationwide, improving efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
