Q: What advances has Healf introduced during the past 12 months?

A: Over the past several months, we have consistently maintained double-digit growth, with some months even reaching triple digits. One of our most significant achievements has been the development of an AI agent specifically designed for the health insurance sector. This AI solution integrates with insurance brokers’ policies and enables users to authenticate themselves and interact through WhatsApp. Once authenticated, users can access all relevant information tied to their major medical expenses policy. The AI agent operates within a secure, closed environment, ensuring that all responses remain consistent with the contractual terms of each policy. Users can request a copy of their policy, download forms, and ask about coverage, hospital access by location, exclusions, and how to maximize their benefits.

This technology has become a key catalyst for our growth. We were also selected to participate in the Google for Startups program, which provided us with US$250,000 in development credits, enabling us to further accelerate our technological roadmap. We recently deployed this solution for a policy covering 30,000 insured individuals, granting each of them personalized, 24/7 support through WhatsApp.

We were also selected to be part of GNP’s Momentum innovation program, contributing to strengthening the value chain of GNP Seguros and creating synergies that drive transformation and continuous growth. This process was carried out in partnership with Bluebox, the firm specialized in Corporate Venturing and Corporate Venture Capital-as-a-Service, which acted as a strategic liaison between GNP and our team.

Q: How do you support brokers and their clients in understanding insurance coverage?

A: Our vision remains centered on empowering insured individuals with clear, accessible information about their policies. The insurance sector still lacks effective communication between key stakeholders, especially as major medical expenses become increasingly unprofitable due to inflation and instability.

We support brokers by helping their clients fully understand and use their coverage. When policyholders are well-informed, they maximize the value of their insurance, improving satisfaction and reducing inefficiencies. Our solutions are tailored for all tiers of insurance brokers, from large international firms to individual agents and insurance promoters. This segmentation allows us to scale and adapt our value proposition across the market.

To date, we have developed several core solutions across the policy lifecycle. These include a smart onboarding tool, a welcome kit that explains the scope of coverage, a claims pathway report that guides users through what is covered, and our AI agent. There is also an upcoming feature to notify users of payment deadlines and coverage expiration, reducing the risk of losing benefits.

Q:  What advances has the company made in its plans to expand into Nuevo Leon and Jalisco?

A: Our technology-driven, SaaS-based model allows us to serve clients across all states in Mexico and process data from any insurer operating in the country. This gives us a significant advantage in scale and reach. Mexico offers enormous growth potential. Unlike startups from South America that expand to Mexico due to limited local markets, our focus has always been to consolidate our position in the country. Our strategy remains clear: dominate the major medical expenses segment and expand into auto, life, and property insurance.

In auto insurance, for example, users often lack clarity during claims or do not know the full scope of their coverage, such as tire, rim, or mirror protection. Our solutions aim to close that gap by providing immediate, accurate information and improving user experience, mitigating the common perception that insurers do not deliver on their promises.

Capital raising has become more challenging, and AI is reshaping the startup landscape. Tasks once requiring 10 developers can now be achieved with one, making operations more efficient and reducing capital needs. While we remain committed to job creation, our hiring is now more strategic. We view AI not as a replacement for people, but as a tool that enhances productivity and enables smarter growth.

Q: How will Healf contribute to the advancement of Mexico’s insurance sector?

A: Insurance has a deep impact on both individuals and companies. There is significant room for emerging companies to bring value to insurance. While many players focus on internal process optimization for insurers, our approach, especially in major medical expenses, centers on the end user. Our solutions benefit the entire chain, but it is the policyholder who gains the most through greater access to clear, actionable information.

We have also learned that working with large corporations requires patience. Decision-making is slow and complex, involving multiple departments and layers of approval. Our focus remains on building high-impact, user-centered products, testing them broadly, and navigating regulatory frameworks responsibly. It is all part of our commitment to delivering value and driving meaningful change in the industry.

Healf is a solution that provides policyholders with a comprehensive overview of their insurance policies, enabling them to make well-informed decisions in their interactions with insurance companies.
