Development and access to medical devices are essential to improve the health sector in Mexico. However, lack of funding and more efficient regulation are necessary for the sector to reach its full potential, said panelists on Day 1 of Mexico Health Summit. In the panel moderated by Montserrat Galindo, Market Access Manager of 3M Healthcare Division, Alejandro Paolini, Vice President of AMID, said the pandemic highlighted the importance of equipment and medical technology as the government opened up the door to introduce this type of technology to fight COVID-19 in early 2020. Adriana De Villa, Commercial Director of Atramat, pointed out how Mexican regulatory standards allow local manufacturers to export and compete at a global level.
