Grupo Salinas, through its retail arm Elektra, has launched “Más Salud México,” a new healthcare initiative that offers affordable medical services including general consultations, lab tests, and specialist care, aiming to improve access to health services in underserved areas across the country.

"We are deploying the best in technology to bring a service of excellence to Mexico," says Ricardo Salinas, Chairman Grupo Salinas.

Más Salud México is a healthcare model developed in partnership with an international firm from India. The initiative uses technology and physical locations to provide accessible and continuous care, particularly for communities with limited access to quality medical services. The first clinic opened inside an Elektra store in southern Mexico City, with plans for rapid national expansion.

"From the moment a person arrives at the service, they are assigned a unique identification number, and from that point forward, we will have their medical record readily available," says Salinas.

The initiative’s core offerings include general medical consultations, specialist care, laboratory testing, chronic disease management, and advanced diagnostics. These services are offered at reduced prices, and the clinics are designed to operate within Elektra retail spaces to maximize convenience and reduce travel time for patients.

"This is how innovation delivers specific results and leads us toward shared prosperity," says Salinas.

Más Salud México clinics integrate digital tools to streamline appointment scheduling, reduce wait times, and support remote access to specialists. This model allows patients in remote areas to receive continuous and timely care, improving early diagnosis and treatment outcomes.

The first clinic is located in Coyoacan, Mexico City. Future locations will be prioritized in areas with the greatest need for medical services, with a strategy that blends brick-and-mortar access and tech-driven support. While the full scale of the expansion has not been detailed, company officials indicate the model is intended to reach nationwide coverage.

"In Mexico, everyone has to pay for a healthcare system that does not work. This is a challenge to the system to show how it should be done," says Salinas.
