Fangzhou, a China-based digital healthcare provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Novo Nordisk to jointly develop digital solutions for managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and obesity. The agreement was signed during the third China International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing.

“We are partnering with Novo Nordisk, a leading global healthcare company, to explore AI technology and address the pain points of traditional health management. Together, we aim to deliver innovative digital solutions for managing blood sugar and weight on a global scale," says Xie Fangmin, CEO, Fangzhou.

The collaboration brings together Fangzhou’s AI-driven healthcare ecosystem and Novo Nordisk’s expertise in chronic disease treatment. According to the companies, the goal is to shift healthcare delivery from a disease-centered model to one focused on long-term health outcomes.

Under the MoU, Fangzhou will integrate its digital infrastructure, designed to support medication adherence, treatment monitoring, and patient education, with Novo Nordisk’s portfolio of therapies for metabolic diseases. The joint initiative will focus on creating a one-stop solution for patients, covering services from early screening to continuous disease management.

The announcement reflects an ongoing trend in healthcare to embed digital technologies into chronic disease management. With over 49 million registered users and more than 220,000 physicians connected to its platform, Fangzhou seeks to expand its role in delivering data-driven medical services and supporting public health strategies such as China’s “Healthy China 2030” plan.

"With the combined strengths of both companies, this collaboration will closely integrate chronic disease prevention and digital innovation technology, jointly enhancing public awareness of diabetes and obesity," says Christine Zhou, Senior Vice President and President of Region China, Novo Nordisk.

Looking ahead, the companies plan to explore additional joint projects to support the digital transformation of healthcare and improve outcomes for patients with long-term illnesses.
