Sitero to Acquire Axiom Real-Time Metrics Pending Court Approval
Sitero, a global provider of clinical and regulatory services with operations in Mexico and six other countries, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets and business of Axiom Real-Time Metrics Inc., a Canadian company known for its e-clinical solutions and full-service clinical operations. The transaction, subject to court and client approvals, is expected to close by July 15, 2025, following a hearing with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice scheduled for July 11.
“We will be thrilled to welcome Axiom to the Sitero family,” said Sankesh Abbhi, CEO, Sitero. “The Axiom platform is known for delivering innovative, customer-centric clinical solutions. With this acquisition, we will form a more powerful platform, ensuring continuity for clients while expanding our ability to deliver global trials with greater agility and scale.”
Axiom, founded in 2001, has supported hundreds of clinical trials across Phases I to IV in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device sectors. The company entered proposed receivership proceedings with KSV Restructuring Inc. acting as court-appointed receiver and manager. Sitero’s offer is contingent on approvals from specific Axiom customers and the Court, which is scheduled to review the transaction on July 11.
This acquisition aligns with Sitero’s broader strategy to enhance its technology-enabled clinical services. By incorporating Axiom’s proprietary Fusion platform and domain expertise, Sitero aims to expand its ability to provide flexible and efficient solutions to sponsors worldwide. The transaction also supports the company’s plans to integrate Axiom’s tools into its own Mentor e-clinical suite, which is being developed with a focus on AI-driven capabilities.
The deal is part of Sitero’s ongoing investment in infrastructure that supports clinical development and regulatory compliance through data and technology. The combined company expects to deliver improved trial oversight and faster development timelines, supported by a broadened global footprint.
If completed, the acquisition will enhance service continuity for existing clients and expand the reach of both organizations. It is expected to strengthen Sitero’s positioning as a comprehensive partner for clinical, regulatory, and safety services, with the added value of Axiom’s operational and digital assets.
