USANA Health Sciences is acquiring a 78.8% controlling stake in Hiya Health Products, a leading provider of children’s health and wellness products. The US$205 million cash transaction, which closed on Dec. 23, 2024, is expected to positively impact USANA Health Sciences’ 2025 adjusted EBITDA.
USANA Health Sciences specializes in the design and manufacturing of nutritional supplements, skin care, and personal care products, based on deep scientific research and development, says Jim Brown, President and CEO, USANA Health Sciences, to MBN.
“The Hiya brand is a natural fit for USANA, and this acquisition represents a key milestone for our business," says Brown.
Hiya Health Products, which generated US$103 million in net sales and US$19 million in net income for the twelve months ending Sep. 30, 2024, will continue to operate under its current leadership. The company had over 200,000 customers at the time of the acquisition.
Brown says that Hiya Health Products’ high-quality children’s products align with USANA Health Sciences’ vision of promoting family health. He adds that the acquisition will diversify USANA Health Sciences’ growth strategy by adding a direct-to-consumer distribution channel, thus reaching a broader audience.
The acquisition expands USANA Health Sciences’ presence in the children’s health and wellness market, a fast-growing segment. Hiya Health Products’ net sales grew 50% year over year from 2023 to 2024, and for fiscal year 2025, and are expected to grow by almost 30% in 2025, according to USANA Health Sciences.
