The development and operation platform O’Donnell Mexico has teamed up with Mexico-based logistics company Estafeta to establish the largest automated hub in the world. This new property will substantially improve Estafeta´s courier and parcel services, while improving the shipping process around the country.

"This hub is specialized in e-commerce and will allow us to interact in an agile manner with all our customers. It will be a key element in the design of service strategies and will take advantage of and complement all the transportation, air and human resources infrastructure, " said Jesús García, Estafeta's chief operating officer, during a virtual press conference.

The hub will be located in Cuautitlán Izcalli, one of the most important industrial corridors in the country. It will also benefit from its proximity to the Mexico - Querétaro highway, allowing for quicker transportation. This logistics infrastructure will allow Estafeta to reach 95 percent of the country's zip codes, according to the executive managing team. Estafeta's new hub will also allow the company to meet the growing logistics services demand that has spiked since last year as a result of e-commerce purchases during the pandemic. Estafeta’s executives have mentioned that they were overwhelmed in regards to their operational capacity, mainly in the months of May and June 2020. As a result, the company began looking for more options to improve their logistics processes which had been affected by the pandemic triggering changes in consumer habits that have boosted purchases through digital channels.

O’Donnell stated through social media “we are very pleased to announce our new business partnership with a company like Estafeta. With an investment of US$17.5 million (MX$350 million), this new distribution center located in the O'Donnell La Laguna park es estimated to generate more than 500 jobs.”
