Graphisoft Unveils Archicad 29 with Built-In AI Assistant
Graphisoft has officially launched Archicad 29, the newest version of its leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, marking a milestone in the digital transformation of Mexico’s construction sector. For the first time, the platform integrates an AI assistant directly into the design process, enhancing productivity, documentation, and collaboration for architects and engineers alike.
“Archicad 29 is much more than a software update, it is a bold step in our mission to build better buildings. It is the backbone of our next generation of AI-powered workflows and superior user experiences,” says Márton Kiss, Chief Product Officer, Graphisoft.
Alongside the new version, Graphisoft also introduced two complementary tools: MEP Designer for installation systems and DDScad 21 for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing projects. The 2025 update of Graphisoft’s flagship software is built on the company’s Intelligent Design Strategy, combining advanced automation with a refined user experience to help design teams focus on creativity and innovation.
The update introduces several improvements across design, documentation, and collaboration. The AI Assistant is now integrated into Archicad 29, DDScad 21, and MEP Designer, offering intelligent prompts, natural-language support, and in-app guidance. Productivity enhancements include faster element rotation, direct opening insertion, upgraded kitchen cabinetry tools, and 3D view resolution controls. Documentation updates add smarter renewal markers, improved line tools, and clearer data listings, while collaboration features now support Bimplus and Bluebeam Studio, along with enhanced BIMcloud and BIMx integration for secure remote teamwork.
MEP Designer enables intuitive modeling of building systems with parametric libraries, automatic documentation, and unified data consistency within one BIM environment. Meanwhile, DDScad 21 introduces automated calculations, safety visualization, and AI-assisted planning to enhance MEP design integration.
Graphisoft also unveiled Project Aurora, a cloud-based platform under testing, designed to enable agile modeling, contextual site analytics, and predictive sustainability insights from the earliest stages of design.
