With a total investment of US$325 million, Chinese leader in hydraulic technology solutions Hengli Hydraulics officially opened its first manufacturing facility in Mexico, marking a significant milestone in the company’s international expansion. The plant is located in FINSA Industrial Park 1 in Nuevo Leon.

“I am very pleased to see this company’s transformation take place, especially as we are now three years into this administration. While we are leading across all economic sectors, what makes us most proud is the surge in foreign investment,” says Governor of Nuevo Leon Samuel García.

García says that Nuevo Leon has attracted US$74 billion in foreign investment over the past three years thanks to a combination of factors that make the state an ideal location for global businesses. These include robust road infrastructure, tax incentives, enhanced border security, and close collaboration with universities to ensure a highly skilled and capable workforce.

Hengli’s investment in Nuevo Leon will unfold in three phases:

  • Phase One involves a US$200 million investment dedicated to the production of hydraulic cylinders for excavators, aerial platforms, mobile cranes, and other industrial equipment. This stage will create 200 new jobs.

  • Phase Two will see a US$25 million investment to establish a Global Research and Development Center, focused on advancing hydraulic technologies and innovations.

  • Phase Three involves a US$100 million investment in the development of a specialized electronics division.

Once all phases are complete, the project is expected to generate a total of 800 jobs.

Hengli Hydraulics operates in over 20 countries, with 11 manufacturing plants and more than 8,000 employees worldwide. The company serves industries such as construction, energy, agriculture, mining, and marine applications.

In Mexico, the new operation is part of a long-term strategy that includes the opening of a Global R&D Center and the development of an electronics business unit, positioning Hengli as a major player in the industrial technology sector within the region.
