Liberty Networks, a leading provider of enterprise connectivity and digital infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean, has activated two new points-of-presence (PoP) in Mexico, while enhancing an existing PoP in Peru. The newly activated PoPs in Campeche and Chetumal, alongside the upgraded PoP in Lima, are key to the company’s strategy to strengthen connectivity across the Yucatan Peninsula and South America.

“These new and enhanced PoPs are more than just network extensions; they represent our vision to build a stronger, smarter digital ecosystem across Latin America. Our presence in Lima, Peru, marks a defining milestone and reinforces our long-term commitment to these key markets. Together with our growth in Mexico and the strategic launch of MANTA to complement these PoPs, we are laying the foundation that ensures the region can compete and participate in the digital future,” says Ray Collins, Senior Vice President of Infrastructure and Corporate Strategy, Liberty Latin America.

This expansion is a milestone in Liberty Networks’ five-year, US$250 million investment plan, aimed at reinforcing its presence in high-growth and underserved regions. It builds on previous launches in Merida, Mexico, and Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, and underlines the company’s commitment to creating a robust digital backbone throughout Latin America.

The PoPs will deliver a comprehensive range of services, including high-speed IP Transit, DDoS Protection, MPLS, and Ethernet solutions for local enterprises, government institutions, and carriers. These services aim to support the scalability, performance, and global connectivity needs of clients throughout the region.

The deployment is further supported by MANTA, Liberty Networks’ advanced subsea cable system. Designed to reduce latency and optimize traffic flow, MANTA connects key data hubs across the Americas and integrates seamlessly with the company’s growing terrestrial network.

Liberty Networks operates across over 30 countries, with nearly 50,000km of submarine fiber optic cable and 17,000km of terrestrial infrastructure. With the new additions, the company will operate 96 wholesale PoPs across Latin America and the Caribbean, positioning critical network nodes closer to end-users and enhancing mission-critical performance and reliability.
