Vallejo-I, a project that aims to reawaken the most important industrial zone in Mexico City, received the International Computer Room Experts Association (ICREA) III quality recognition for its outstanding performance in numerous systems that fully comply with international standards. Among other features, the center aims to provide other government entities support for data services.

“The Digital Public Innovation Agency (ADIP) reported that the International Computer Room Experts Association (ICREA) delivered to the City Government a recognition for the ICREA III Quality Certification of the Vallejo-I Data Processing Center,” explained the Mexico City government via a press release. With this recognition, Vallejo-I becomes the only center in Latin America administered by a local government with an ICREA III certification. The center, which started operations this year, houses its own cloud to provide digital services.

Mexico City government explained that the Vallejo-I Data Center performs state-of-the-art data safety operations that reduce the possibility of threats and incidents. Its infrastructure provides an advanced service of digitalization to make processes operated by government dependencies more efficient. ICREA argued that the electrical installations, air conditioning, fire system, access control, communications, closed television circuit and authorized monitoring, comply with the international standard for the construction of ICREA-certified computer centers.

Several organizations now use the data center to store information, such as the General Directorate of Open Government of the ADIP, Labor Conciliation Center of Mexico City, Superior Audit of Mexico City and Servicios Metropolitanos S.A de C.V. In the coming months, other states will begin using Vallejo-I’s storage services, as the Mexico City government continues to implement a technological cooperation strategy that seeks to include the rest of the country.

Mexico City Governor Claudia Sheinbaum announced a MX$12 billion (US$571.7 million) aerospace investment for Vallejo-I December 2021, highlighting that the center has ample growth for numerous opportunities in the clean industry and aerospace, as reported by MBN.

“We have just had a very large meeting of industrial entrepreneurs, mainly from the aerospace industry that has been developing in Mexico for several years… Entrepreneurs from Russia, China, and India were present at this meeting. They are going to get acquainted with the Innovation Center; from here, they will have different visits to Pantaco and other places in Vallejo,” said Sheinbaum in a press release. “This is a first meeting, the first of many more, for the development and connection of Baja California, Mexico City and their entrepreneurs.”
