Redwood Logistics is expanding its US-Mexico cross-border platform through the acquisition of EELCO, adding customs brokerage, FTZ warehousing and a stronger operational footprint in Laredo as demand for integrated border logistics grows.

Redwood Logistics has announced the acquisition of EELCO, a Laredo, Texas-based customs brokerage and warehousing provider with more than 30 years of experience at the US-Mexico border, deepening its cross-border strategy. The transaction expands Redwood’s customs brokerage and Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) capabilities while adding a major warehousing footprint at the Port of Laredo.

"The way companies are building and managing their supply chains is fundamentally changing. Nearshoring is reshaping global trade flows, tariff complexity is accelerating and shippers are demanding partners who can manage the full picture, not just move freight, but navigate compliance, integrate data and orchestrate everything in between. Acquiring EELCO is about meeting that moment. It makes Redwood's platform more complete, more capable and better positioned to serve customers who need a true end-to-end partner," says Mark Yeager, CEO, Redwood.

According to Redwood, the acquisition adds licensed customs brokerage services, FTZ warehousing and border expertise directly into Redwood Mexico, the company’s cross-border logistics unit. EELCO contributes a 23,225.75m² warehouse in Laredo, a sister operation in Nuevo Laredo and dedicated operations at other client locations, giving Redwood a stronger operational and compliance base at one of the most important freight gateways in US-Mexico trade.

The move builds on Redwood Mexico’s existing scale. Redwood says its Mexico platform has been orchestrating US-Mexico freight for more than a decade and now manages over 40,000 annual cross-border shipments through a network of more than 300 carrier partners. By integrating EELCO’s licensed brokerage and FTZ expertise into that network, Redwood is seeking to offer shippers a more unified cross-border solution that connects freight movement, compliance, documentation and visibility.

"Mexico is no longer just an emerging trade story. The US$100 billion invested in Mexican manufacturing over the past five years has created an enormous demand for reliable northbound and southbound cross-border logistics. The acquisition of EELCO extends Redwood Mexico’s ability as a licensed customs brokerage to meet that demand head-on, serving our existing customers with greater speed and solving more complex problems for the industry at large," states Jordan Dewart, President, Redwood Mexico.

Redwood frames the acquisition as a response to structural shifts in regional trade. The acquisition also fits into a broader expansion strategy that Redwood is pursuing with PX Holdings. In February 2026, PX Holdings acquired Freight Exchange of North America from Redwood Logistics, and both companies announced a strategic partnership to continue expanding their US-Mexico cross-border network. That deal extended its reach across Chicago, the industrial Midwest and border gateways including El Paso and Pharr, with planned expansion toward Laredo. Redwood remained involved through its 4PL model, overseeing freight orchestration, execution and optimization across the network.
