2021: A Year of Rebirth for Mexico's Mining Industry?

COVID-19 was not the only challenge faced by the Mexican mining sector in 2020. On Feb. 10 at the Mexico Mining Forum 2021, panelists shared the main concerns  such as the Senate’s initiative to nationalize lithium and the shutdown of the mining industry and its classification as a non-essential activity. Fernando Alanis, president of CAMIMEX, said that among the main challenges for  2021 are the misconceptions of the mining sector, new legislative initiatives and its position as one of the pillars of the country's economic recovery.
