Q: What are TechFlow’s main capabilities and how do they complement the Mexican mining sector?
A: TechFlow has grown significantly since its founding in 2005, now having 42 dedicated employees. The company is firmly established in the mining sector.  Our Northwest Regional office is based in Hermosillo, Sonora, and oversees Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, and Sinaloa. This region is home to some of the largest mines operated by Grupo México and Fresnillo.

We strive to offer a specialized portfolio of solutions tailored to the unique needs of our clients. We represent brands that stand out for their innovative technology. For example, our partner CIDRA provides a highly reliable flow measurement device that operates on a principle endorsed by the International Society of Automation (ISA). This device features a sensor band installed externally on the pipe, ensuring that the measurement equipment does not come into direct contact with the fluid, which significantly extends its lifespan. We also offer a particle size tracking device called PST, which optimizes grinding and recovery in flotation processes. These advanced sensors and monitors enable informed decision-making over the quality of grinding and flotation recovery, directly enhancing the mine's profitability.

Q: How do TechFlow’s solutions address key concerns in the sector?
A: Water recovery is a critical asset in mining operations, especially following the introduction of the NOM-0179 standard by the government. We are pursuing recognition as Integrated Service Providers to design and install water measurement systems. This recognition is crucial since mining relies heavily on various water sources, and eventually, all wells will need to be monitored directly.

We also provide thickeners to aid in the water recovery process. Controlling the thickener's level can be challenging, requiring adjustments based on the mine's operational parameters. Traditionally, the valves used in these applications were under significant stress and often needed frequent replacements. To tackle this, we partnered with a Canadian manufacturer that produces valves with hardened tungsten carbide internals. Their implementation significantly improved performance, reducing valve replacements from monthly to annually.

Q: What are TechFlow’s expectations for 2025, and what strategies will allow it to achieve them?
A: We aim to strengthen our partnerships with brands like Krohne, which invests in advanced technology and holds numerous patents in flow, level, pressure, and temperature measurement. We plan to bring Krohne specialists to Mexico to provide training on flow measurement for users. Our goal is to ensure that users are informed about the latest innovations in the market and can take advantage of these technologies.

TechFlow, created in 2005, represents manufacturers of high-quality valves and industrial instruments for the mining, energy, steel, food & beverage, chemical, paper, and oil and gas sectors, among others
