Fortune Bay Advances Poma Rosa, Goldfields Gold Projects
Canada-based junior mining company Fortune Bay reported recent progress at its two gold projects, with a particular focus on advancing community consultations at the Poma Rosa Project in Chiapas, and an updated Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for its Goldfields Project in Canada.
At the Poma Rosa project, Fortune Bay is advancing the consultation process with local communities. The company aims to establish agreements that will support the planned restart of fieldwork in late 2025. In parallel, Fortune Bay, in collaboration with Understood Mineral Resources, completed a data review of the project.
The company plans to initiate an updated NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the Campamento gold deposit, which has a historical MRE of 1Moz Measured & Indicated, and will also work to establish a maiden MRE for the Cerro La Mina copper-gold prospect. "At Poma Rosa, we are laying the groundwork for future exploration and development by fostering transparent, inclusive relationships with local communities," stated Dale Verran, CEO, Fortune Bay.
In Canada, work on the Goldfields project is also advancing. The updated PEA, led by Ausenco Engineering, is on schedule for completion in 3Q25 and will incorporate higher gold prices. Environmental baseline studies for permitting have also been initiated, with terrestrial fieldwork now underway. "Fortune Bay is entering an active phase, with Goldfields and Poma Rosa advancing toward key milestones. With disciplined capital deployment and active market engagement, we are positioning the company to deliver meaningful growth,” said Wade Dawe, Executive Chairman, Fortune Bay.
