Canada-based mining company GR Silver Mining reported it discovered silver at one of its main projects in Mexico after carrying out an exploratory drilling program. The company sees potential for further production in this discovery, as well as the proof of the efficiency of the company’s processes and the possibility of continuing its drilling program.

The discovery was made in the first drill hole, located 250m southeast of San Marcial Breccia at GR Silver's wholly-owned Plomosas Project in Sinaloa. The company reported that its drill hole SMS22-10 intersected 308g/t of silver, which is in line with a trend the company identified earlier when it found a more extensive breccia and stockwork mineralization rich in silver, extending far below the target zone.

The company stated that the recent discovery shows the potential for additional mineralization in the southeastern San Marcial area. In addition, it emphasized the efficiency of its technicians regarding selection works and detailed mapping, as well as their interpretation of geophysical surveys and geochemical anomalies during two years of work.

Eric Zaunscher, Chairman and CEO, GR Silver Mining, highlighted Plomosas’ potential, as well as the innovative processes developed by the company’s technicians. He foresees continued exploration success, which would boost future resource updates. Recently, the company has completed three drill holes that are under review with laboratory analyses pending. In addition, the company prepares for further drilling with two rigs over the coming months in San Marcial’s southeastern area. “We look forward to continued exploration success and new flows from ongoing drilling leading to an updated project mineral resource estimate in 1Q23…. We are confident that the higher grades encountered in recent drilling may also be meaningfully impactful in the upcoming resource update,” Zaunscher added.

During Mexico Mining Forum 2022, Marcio Fonseca, President and COO, GR Silver, already held a positive perspective, despite being at the early exploration stage. He considers the company to be positioned well for continuous value growth because of its implementation of strategic assets that have historically yielded gold and silver mineralization.

Fonseca highlighted the company’s goal to operate without notable environmental and social incidents. He detailed that GR Silver is focused on maintaining good relations with communities by hiring locals and promoting inclusion in the workplace, among other benefits for the surrounding population.
