Iran Conflict Could Cut Copper Mining Profits Up to 55%: BI
If prolonged hostilities disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and drive oil prices above US$150/b, global economic expansion would likely decelerate, limiting copper consumption growth to roughly 0.5%–1%, Bloomberg Intelligence warns. Under such conditions, prices could fall beneath US$10,000/t while creating a refined metal surplus between 100,000t and 200,000t.
