Luca Mining announced it started commercial production at its Tahuehueto project in Durango. The company considers this achievement reflects the effectiveness of its optimization efforts.

In March 2025, Luca Mining noted that the Tahuehueto mine showed a consistent throughput exceeding 800t/d. The company noted Tahuehueto's processing plant features an installed capacity of 1,000 t/d, with demonstrated instantaneous production rates of up to 1,200 t/d. Plant availability is at 82%, with plans to increase to 85% to 90%. "This milestone marks a significant step in the mine's development, reflecting the operational team's dedication and the effectiveness of recent optimization efforts. Achieving this sustained production level demonstrates the mine's ability to generate stable output, supporting the company's growth strategy and long-term value creation,” said Ramón Pérez, President, Luca Mining.

Luca Mining has indicated that it is prioritizing infrastructure enhancements, which include the construction of a spare parts warehouse to minimize downtime. The company emphasized that increasing mill throughput and continuing exploration of near-mine and regional targets are key objectives.

Luca Mining’s 2025 Production Guidance

Luca Mining also released its 2025 production guidance for the Tahuehueto and Campo Morado mines and its financial forecasts and capital expenditure plans.

Luca Mining anticipates producing between 85,000oz and 100,000oz AuEq, with payable oz ranging from 65,000oz to 80,000oz. Free cash flow before working capital adjustments is projected to be between US$30 million and US$40 million.

The company said it will focus on increasing mill feed and throughput Campo Morado, aiming for over 2,000t/d by the end of 2025. Optimization efforts will continue to improve metal recoveries and grade consistency.

Luca Mining will invest US$27.4 million in capital expenditures and exploration in 2025, funded by operational cash flow. Campo Morado will receive US$13 million for capital projects and a 5,000m exploration program to expand resources. Tahuehueto will receive US$10.5 million and US$2.6 million for capital expenditures and a 5,000m exploration program, respectively.

Luca intends to eliminate its debt by July 2026, supported by operational free cash flow and potential warrant exercises. Dan Barnholden, CEO, Luca Mining, said the company is entering a growth phase, with a long-term vision to become a mid-tier mining company producing over 200,000oz AuEq per year.
