Canada-based Luca Mining has reported high-grade drilling intercepts and expanded its 2026 exploration campaigns across its two flagship operations in Mexico, encountering significant mineralization at the Campo Morado mine in Guerrero and the Tahuehueto mine in Durango. The ongoing campaigns have successfully extended the mineralized footprints of multiple unmined zones proximal to active underground workings, providing critical geological data to optimize near- and long-term mine planning.

According to Luca Mining, drilling operations have completed 12,035m from underground and 16,535m from surface to date, targeting unmined zones proximal to active workings. In the unmined El Rey zone, surface hole CMRY-26-10 intersected 28.4m grading 2.28g/t Au and 134.89g/t Ag, including a high-grade interval of 9.7m of 4.09g/t Au and 208.99g/t Ag. “At El Rey, surface drilling has also expanded the known limits of the zone while providing important geological information that will support evaluation of the zone for inclusion in the long-term Campo Morado mine plan,” said Paul Gray, Vice President of Exploration, Luca Mining.

In the unmined Naranjo zone, underground hole CMUG-26-44 intersected 19.6m grading 2.78g/t Au and 103.12g/t Ag, while hole CMUG-26-42 returned 20.6m of 3.05g/t Au and 50.69g/t Ag. These results expand the mineralized footprints near existing infrastructure to support long-term mine planning.

The company also reported that the exploration campaign at the Campo Morado polymetallic mine also incorporates advanced target generation through VRIFY Technology and its proprietary DORA AI software. The compilation program processed historical datasets comprising 650,000m of drilling, 30,000 soil samples, and 153 distinct geophysical layers. The execution of approximately 100 automated deep learning models identified six high-priority exploration targets. The technical team is currently advancing these targets toward ground-truthing and exploratory diamond drilling to refine the 2026–2028 mine plans.

Tahuehueto Exploration Campaign Expansion

In addition to its activities at the Campo Morado mine, Luca Mining expanded its 2026 exploration campaign at the Tahuehueto mine in Durango, allocating an extra US$2.4 million for the remainder of the year. Operations on site are using two contracted diamond drill rigs and one Luca Mining-owned underground rig, completing 40 underground holes for 8,268m and 25 surface holes for 4,599m to date.

Surface drilling targeting the Creston vein structure intersected several high-grade breccia zones below current mine workings on Level 23. Notable results include hole DDH26-SU-07, which intersected 6.8m grading 5.54g/t AgEq (4.08g/t Au, 58.79g/t Ag, 0.71% Cu, 0.74% Pb, and 1.19% Zn), including a premium high-grade core of 1.0m returning 22.35g/t AgEq. Additionally, hole DDH26-SU-04 intersected 4.5m grading 4.50g/t AgEq, including a 2.6m sub-interval of 5.59g/t AgEq.

The underground drilling program also target-tested the El Rey vein structure, which has seen no active mining since 1983 and no exploration for over 20 years. Hole DDH26-239 successfully verified mineralization at the target, intersecting 3.3m grading 3.04g/t AgEq, which included a higher-grade interval of 1.0m returning 7.48g/t AgEq. The technical team intends to integrate these newly defined breccia zones into the near-term resource models to bring them into production within one year. “This latest round of surface drilling further confirms that high-grade breccia zones within the Creston Vein system remain unmined below current workings, and are expected to be included into near- and medium-term mine plans at Tahuehueto,” Gray added.
