Safety is an essential element that must be considered in all mining operations. On Day 2 of the Mexico Mining Forum 2021, panelist discussed the latest safety developments regarding mining operations toward a zero-fatalities goal and the companies’ responsibility to implement the best safety practices. "Education and communication are vital to ensure safety. Flexibility is also necessary; mining is changing and digitization is still lacking,” said Hugo Barrientos, Manager of IIoT Plantweb Digital Ecosystem at Emerson. He added that the health and safety of personnel are necessary elements to achieve the best performance.
