New W-Series Takes Winching Applications to the Next Level

With the launching of the new W Series, Reggiana Riduttori has enhanced its product range and further positioned itself as one of the leading providers of world-class technology in gearbox integration. Modularity and flexibility are considered the most attractive features of the new W Series, unmatched by any other product on the market.

In 2020, Transtecno became part of the Interpump Group. With this acquisition, it transitioned into a power transmission hub. Recently, Reggiana Riduttori and Transtecno announced the launching of the W-series of winches aimed at offering greater product compactness and flexibility and to further withstand heavy-duty operations. With this new series, Reggiana Riduttori has expanded its gear ratios and size range to bring the planetary winch to 12. The new portfolio comes at a time when the level of services and lead-time delivery have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, one of the main objectives of the company is to support customers whenever they have a problem or delay with their operations.

Edward C. Kowalsky, US Technical Engineer for Reggiana Riduttori, said the W series differs from other products on the market in its composition and modularity because it allows the incorporation of additional stages. In addition, the new series has a higher degree of standardization of components, which allows rapid delivery while maintaining all customer specifications.

Furthermore, the W series provides benefits such as high input speed, higher gear torque capacity, easier input stage cooling and lubrication, full RR input accessories compatibility, exceptional radial load and bevel design. The W series is also certified in EX, DNV GL and ABS. Kowalsky added that the oil seals have a special composition and treatment that provide greater protection against external agents. These seals are also easy to inspect and replace, even in large sizes.

According to Reggiana Riduttori, the new W series’ unique features mean these products can be used in a wide range of industries and applications, such as construction, bridge or mobile cranes; boat lift; gantry truck; marine winch; among others.
