Reyna Silver has begun a 10,000-meter drill campaign at its Batopilas Project in Chihuahua, Mexico.

The drill program is following targets established by Reyna’s technical team during the Spring of 2021 exploration campaign, which discovered multiple extensions to the 30 known veins in the district, as well as two new veins with multiple high-grade silver and gold sample results of up to 42,302 g/t Ag and 21.4 g/t Au. Most of the veins in the district have seen little to no modern-day exploration.

Jorge Ramiro Monroy, CEO of Reyna Silver stated in the press release, “We are excited to see drilling at Batopilas. We are applying modern day exploration methods and new ideas to unlock the potential of a historic district believed to be the highest-grade silver system in Mexico’s history having produced an estimated 350,000,000 ounces of silver at an average grade of 1.5 kg/t.”

In February, Reyna Silver had released their high-grade silver and gold results from its late 2020 surface and first trench sampling program, as part of the exploration program at Botapilas. This initial exploration program was carried out during 4Q2020 to find extensions of the historically important Pastrana-Roncesvalles-Cobriza Veins in the relatively underexplored north and northeastern parts of the Batopilas Project in the La Cobriza-Gossan-Minitas Teodoro areas. A total of 258 samples were collected, including trench, soil, and surface rock chip samples in an area approximately 2.0 km long by 1.5 km wide, where discontinuous outcrops mark the two newly recognized mineralized structures.

Dr. Peter Megaw, Exploration Advisor to Reyna Silver said in February that finding the first consistent gold values in the historically high-grade silver dominant Batopilas District was very exciting, especially since they can link a number of these occurrences to alteration anomalies revealed by a recent WorldView III satellite hyperspectral survey. It was not until mid-May when  Reyna Silver announced the commencement of the drilling program after the exploration phase. They also announced Crescat Capital as a new investor which allowed them to increase their drilling programs. “We are pleased to welcome Crescat as an investor. With the proceeds from this financing, we will increase our drill program at Batopilas from the 5,000 meters originally planned to 10,000 meters and we will expand the current drilling at Guigui from 10,000 meters to 12,000 meters,” said Monroy.
