A: In a nutshell, we solve ventilation issues and all the related problems that might arise when transporting them to mining sites. G+ Plastics manufactures high-efficiency ventilation ducts for underground ventilation lines that reduce energy costs by up to 50%. These highly efficient, semi-rigid ducts can be compressed for transport, significantly reducing transportation costs. When shipped to Mexico, these ducts will require far fewer trucks for transportation compared to traditional rigid ducts.

Q: Why does the company consider Mexico an attractive destination? 
A: We are in the early stages of establishing our presence in the Mexican market, with a distributor and a few clients; however, the market looks promising. We foresee positive development because our products are perfectly suited to underground operations and Mexico has numerous underground mines, making it a highly promising market for us. We initially began in Canada and the United States, and we are focusing on expanding our presence in the latter country and in Mexico. Our progress in Canada has been quite positive, so we are gradually venturing into new territories. 

Q: The use of plastic can raise environmental concerns. How do your products address or mitigate these concerns? 
A: Plastic does present issues, as it often causes environmental concerns and accumulates in oceans. However, our product offers a solution to these concerns. It is designed to be reusable, almost indefinitely unless it is completely torn apart. We have clients who reuse ducts 10, 15, or even 20 times, as this product has an exceptionally long lifespan. We can also recycle the plastic itself, making it an environmentally responsible choice.

Q: What are the main advantages of G+ Plastic’s products when compared to those of the competition?
A: Mines that were previously using flexible ducts had to replace them almost daily, as those ducts were unable to deliver enough air, and underground machinery usually damaged them. We can reduce the duct diameter of our product, reducing the risk of damage. While our product may have a slightly higher upfront cost, in the long run, it proves to be a much more cost-effective and efficient solution.

Q: What should mining companies take into account when selecting ventilation solutions? 
A: Ventilation plays a key role in the energy consumption of a mining project. Energy efficiency is a critical factor in underground mining, as energy costs constitute a significant portion of the total operational expenses. Essentially, the more energy a company can save, the better. 

Q: What is the approach G+ Plastics takes when engaging in new relationships with clients? 
A: When we sell ducts for the first time, we visit the site, demonstrate how the ducts work, guide the client through the installation process, and maintain ongoing communication. This close relationship is crucial because it allows us to stay informed about any issues and ensures that everything runs smoothly. Staying in contact with the client and making concerted efforts to ensure optimal performance is fundamental to our approach.

We appreciate feedback, and it is generally positive. Issues are uncommon and typically stem from unfamiliarity with the installation process. However, once installed, clients quickly recognize the ducts’ numerous advantages, such as cost savings on electricity and reduced repair time.
