Starcore International Mines announces production results for its fiscal quarter ended April 2025, highlighting the commissioning of a new processing circuit for carbonaceous ore treatment at its San Martin mine in Queretaro. The company calls this as a significant milestone in the lead-up to treating this type of ore.

In the start-up phase of the new circuit, the plant milled 5,000t of stockpiled ore, grading 2.1g/t of gold and 26g/t of silver. Recoveries achieved were 80% for gold and 76% for silver, aligning with the company’s expectations. Doré production from this initial phase totaled 180oz gold equivalent (AuEq).

Starcore International Mines reports that the San Martin mine ramped up development and mining activity for carbonaceous ore as planned, producing 140t/d of this material. The company has engaged a contractor to assist with additional works. "We are very excited about the success of the new carbonaceous ore process, as it represents an extension of the mine life. This paves the way for continuing to explore the great potential we have at San Martín, in oxides and carbonaceous ore,” says Salvador García, COO, Starcore International Mines.

Other operations at the San Martin mine are continuing as normal. This includes exploring and developing a new area in the southern part of the mine, focusing on the depths of the area known as the San Jose mine.
