Tocvan Ventures reported the results of its drilling program at the Pilar silver-gold project in Sonora, Mexico. The company announced that with the exploration program, it has discovered a new trend parallel to the Main Zone and has identified new targets to be explored in the coming months.

In a press release, the company highlighted that 1,562m were drilled and nine drill holes completed during the Phase III drilling program, which has provided key insights into the Main Zone and the 4 Trench Trend of the Pilar project.

Among the main highlights of the drilling program were the hole JES-22-63 featuring “54.9m at 0.3g/t Au and 5g/t Ag from 6.1m depth, including 13.7m at 0.6g/t Au and 13g/t Ag, as well as 9.2m at 0.6g/t Au and 3g/t Ag.The company said JES-22-65 successfully crossed a large anomalous zone in the trend, with elevated zinc from surface to an 81.2m hole.

“For the first drill hole on this trend to return broad low-grade mineralization is extremely encouraging. We are very proud of the team and the success we have had to date, to have eight of nine drill holes return significant mineralization is a testament to their hard work. Planning is underway to complete more drilling within the next month to further evaluate these new target areas,” said Brodie Sutherland, CEO, Tocvan Ventures.

The company highlighted that concluding the stage of the drilling program with the discovery of a new trend parallel to its main zone gives the company confidence in the potential of the mineralized system at Pilar. In addition, Tocvan highlighted that with the results, the company has identified new targets to explore.

Previously, in an interview with MBN, Sutherland noted that at Pilar, the company's exploration program has been remarkably successful. Therefore, he believes it has all the elements to create a high-potential project. “Tocvan Ventures has all the elements needed to create success. With two quality assets and a terrific team, we see tremendous opportunity in Mexico. My goal for this year is to entice local developers to see the potential I see in our projects and make them shareholders of Tocvan. Secondly, I aim to advance Pilar toward its first resource estimate. We are still in an early stage of growth, so there is a lot of opportunity ahead,” said Sutherland.

El Pilar and El Picacho are Tocvan’s two Mexican exploration projects carried. The El Pilar is a gold-silver project where to date over 22km of drilling has been completed. It is located in the Sonora Gold District, the country’s most prolific gold production district housing over 38 percent of the national production. El Picacho is a gold-silver project located 140km norths of Hermosillo, spanning over 2,400ha. Five primary zones of gold-silver mineralization have already been identified at the project.
