Mexico and Chile are preparing to reassess their copper supply chains after the United States proposed a 50% tariff on copper imports. In other news, US-based defense and aerospace firm Lockheed Martin is evaluating partnerships with mining companies to activate two licenses in the mineral-rich Clarion-Clipperton Zone (CCZ).

The United States' proposed 50% tariff on copper imports is pushing Mexico and Chile to reassess their trade strategies. Although the United States remains a major importer, both countries are preparing for a potential global restructuring of the copper supply chain.
