Vizsla Silver Gets Mexican Government Financing for Panuco Mine
Vizsla Silver has secured a MXN$173 million (US$10 million) unsecured working capital facility from Mining Development Trust (FIFOMI), a Mexican government-backed financial institution specialized in the mining sector, for its Panuco silver-gold project in Sinaloa.

Americas Gold and Silver Corporation announced on May 22 an agreement with Sprott Mining to terminate a silver delivery obligation representing 592,000ozof silver, exchanging the remaining liability for 7,956,696 common shares issued at a deemed price of US$5.57 per share. The move eliminates more than US$45 million in variable future debt obligations and comes as the company reported record silver production and revenue for the 1Q26.

The TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) granted regulatory approval for a definitive option agreement between J2 Metals and Impact Silver for the acquisition of the Sierra Plata silver-gold-antimony project in Guerrero. The company considers the project a strategic asset because, besides silver and gold, it has the potential for antimony extraction, a mineral recently designated as critical by the United States and the EU.


Silverco Mining Completes Acquisition of Nuevo Silver
Canada-based silver company Silverco Mining completed the acquisition of Canada-based Nuevo Silver. The transaction marks Silverco’s transformation into a silver producer by taking 100% ownership of the La Negra mine in Queretaro. 


COFECE Approves Sierra Madre’s Acquisition of Del Toro Mine
Canada-based Sierra Madre Gold and Silver announced it received regulatory approval from Mexico's antitrust agency, the Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE), for the acquisition of the Del Toro silver mine in Zacatecas. The company is finalizing the purchase from First Majestic Silver, aiming to replicate the successful restart achieved at its La Guitarra mine in the State of Mexico.
