Canada-based exploration company Vizsla Silver is advancing its ESG initiatives through health fairs, reforestation efforts, and better transparency in reporting, says the company in its second annual Sustainability Report.

The company’s activities advanced its reforestation efforts. For example, it cultivated about 4,000 native trees of 15 different species, which will be used in future restoration activities. “This proactive effort will ensure a healthy stock of plants for long-term restoration of any areas potentially affected by the Panuco Project,” reads Vizsla Silver’s report.

Vizsla Silver also continued its voluntary efforts to rehabilitate two aging tailing storage facilities from legacy operations, investing US$6 million in the remediation of historic tailings at the El Coco project.

Vizsla Silver also facilitated three health fairs that provided essential medical services to almost 550 community members. The company also invested over US$73,943 in local communities, bringing its total community investment to over US$295,774.

In terms of governance, the company strengthened its ESG reporting framework and enhanced transparency through the preparation of its second sustainability report. Vizsla Silver also began updating its social impact assessment and formalizing its Social Management Plan as part of its ongoing commitment to responsible practices.

“This report is a testament to our efforts and dedication to forge a responsible future for the environment, our people, and the communities in which we operate. This year’s Sustainability Report highlights the devotion and commitment Vizsla Silver has undertaken over the past twelve months to move our ESG initiatives forward,” says Michael Konnert, President and CEO, Vizsla Silver.
