The Week in Mining highlights developments in Mexico’s mining industry, where projects like Minera Alamos’ Santana mine are on track to reach production in 2020. Also, First Majestic announced its projection for this year, underlining investments in technology at San Dimas. At Davos, Graciela Márquez, Mexico’s Minister of Economy, met with Tom Palmer, CEO of Newmont Goldcorp, to discuss the company’s investment plans in the country.

Graciela Márquez, Mexico’s Minister of Economy, spent her third day at Davos meeting with business leaders, including Newmont Goldcorp’s Tom Palmer.

Undersecretary of Mining Francisco Quiroga said negotiations are being planned to restart Naica mining project.

First Majestic announced a strong projection for 2020, while Premier declared it has a plan to tackle Mercedes project’s issues. Santana project is officially under construction.
