Zacatecas Silver announced its exploration plans for a key deep intrusion target near the Esperanza Gold Project as well as other near-surface targets around the development located in the state of Morelos.

A recently completed review of historical drilling suggests that gold and silver-enriched fluids were obtained from a deeper mineralized intrusion. The company will carry out geophysical studies on deeper mineralized intrusion to determine potential target types. Additionally, several near-surface priority targets for gold and silver mineralization were identified. The exploration plans will go in hand with the recently announced strategic alliance with the Tetlama community.

Zacatecas Silver said the project will offer significant economic opportunities for Tetlama and the surrounding areas. Furthermore, it will create important commercial and employment prospects while serving as a robust source of tax revenue.

Several holes were drilled by the previous operators to target mineralization on the western perimeter of the Esperanza Gold Project, at depths that were below the planned open pit. The drill results revealed intercepts in primary hypogene sulfide mineralization, which included 9m at 2.04g/t Au from 256.5 to 265. 5m and 9m at 106g/t Ag from 246 to 255m in hole 11-219. In the second hole, 30m at 2.56g/t Au from 324 to 354m, including 7.5m at 7.36g/t Au from 324 to 331.5m, and 27m at 26.0g/t Ag and 0.18% Cu from 321 to 348m in hole 11-214. In hole 11-213, 5m at 1.14g/t Au from 303 to 328.5 m including 9m at 2.26g/t Au from 319.5 to 328.5m, and 36m at 38.4g/t Ag, 0.97% Zn and 0.15% Cu from 283.5 to 319.5m.

The mineralization identified in the aforementioned three holes indicates that there is potential for gold and silver-mineralized fluids to have originated from a deeper mineralizing intrusion. Potential target types include stockwork, disseminated and breccia-hosted gold and silver mineralization near the mineralizing intrusion, as well as skarn and disseminated gold and silver mineralization found in limestone and calcareous sediments.

Based on the foregoing high-priority exploration targets, Zacatecas Silver is planning a focused geochemical sampling and field-based geophysical sampling program.
