DP World Joins OAS Ports Committee to Boost Trade in the Americas
DP World, a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions, has become an associate member of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS). This marks a significant step in its efforts to foster sustainable growth and strengthen trade connectivity across the Americas.
“Joining the Inter-American Committee on Ports is an important step in deepening our engagement across the Americas and the Caribbean. As we continue to invest in the development of world-class infrastructure and integrated logistics solutions, we look forward to collaborating with CIP members to advance growth, knowledge-sharing, and innovation across the supply chain. This membership reinforces our commitment to building resilient, future-ready supply chain networks that benefit communities and economies across the Americas and beyond,” says Morten Johansen, COO, DP World Americas.
Operating in 12 countries across the region — including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, and Mexico — DP World plays a vital role in enabling access to global markets through its expansive and integrated network of ports, terminals, and logistics infrastructure.
The CIP serves as a vital platform for collaboration, innovation, and competitiveness in the port sector across the region. As an associate member, DP World will contribute to CIP-led initiatives that promote operational excellence, environmental sustainability, safety, and security across maritime and logistics sectors in the hemisphere.
DP World’s operations in the region include advanced container terminals, freight forwarding, bonded warehouses, and multimodal logistics hubs. Its recent US$760 million investment to expand the Port of Caucedo and its Free Trade Zone in the Dominican Republic underscores the company’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure and creating long-term economic value. Additional terminal upgrades are also underway in Posorja, Ecuador, and Santos, Brazil.
With over 300 logistics, port, and fulfillment facilities globally — and a rapidly growing presence in Latin America — DP World is uniquely positioned to support the CIP’s mission of inclusive economic development and regional integration through cutting-edge port development and logistics connectivity.
