Q: In what ways have Easytrack's services evolved in response to the dynamic requirements of the logistics sector?

A: We were born as a GPS device manufacturer and designer of our own tracking software. Over the course of our almost 20 years in operation, we have changed our business model. Nowadays, GPS devices are a commodity included for free with any unit you purchase. Owing to these changes, five years ago we started to transition from a GPS provider to a monitoring center. We become our clients’ eyes, monitoring their operations 24/7 for safety issues. We follow protocols for every event, whether it is an authorized or unauthorized stop, departure from the distribution center, fuel theft or a change in the temperature of the cargo. We focus on monitoring our clients' units, providing virtual security and executing particular protocols for each event. However, becoming a monitoring center is not enough to meet clients' needs; we need to differentiate ourselves. Sometimes, clients tell us they already have a monitoring center and ask what we can offer.

There is a common error in this industry: companies that have monitoring personnel are monitoring units by visualizing the GPS provider's platform. The problem is that a GPS platform is designed to measure the performance of the operator, to measure times and movements of the routes, not to measure the performance of the monitoring personnel. This leads to situations where the company is informed about a theft one or two hours after the fact. The error is that companies are not providing their monitoring personnel with the correct tools. At our monitoring center, we have specialized software called a Monitoring Console, which measures the performance and efficiency of our monitoring center. The software allows us to monitor our team and lets us know what to do during each event, no matter what it is.

However, GPS is still a must in the logistics sector, so we offer such technology too, as well as other services, such as fuel sensors, temperature sensors, door sensors, alerts for frontal collision, facial recognition so the operator can only start the unit if identified by a camera and cameras equipped with artificial intelligence to detect fatigue, distraction and cellphone use. We are a one-stop-shop for all the security and technology services a company might need.

Q: What is Easytrack’s market penetration in Mexico?
A: Land transportation is the natural market for these services but we handle more than just freight transportation. We serve anyone who owns vehicles, whether they have motorcycles, agricultural tractors, light or heavy vehicles or even companies that do not have their own vehicles but simply offer services related to securing cargo from origin to destination. We support them with technology that can be placed in the container at the port of origin. When the cargo reaches its destination, we remove our systems. At the moment, we do not serve trains, airplanes or ships, just vehicles.

Regarding our operations in Mexican territory, our headquarters are in Guadalajara, Jalisco, but we have personnel in various cities, including Mexico City, Monterrey, Puebla, Queretaro, Leon, Colima, Morelia, Celaya, Aguascalientes and Tijuana. We serve clients throughout the country. If a client is in Cancun and needs GPS installation, location is not a limitation.

Q: What new sectors is the company looking to enter in 2023?
A: This year, our goal is to continue consolidating our position as the leading company in central monitoring. We have seen significant growth in our monitoring services and in providing our monitoring console to clients that already have a monitoring team.

Conventions and forums are essential to building closer relationships with clients. In other circumstances, it can be difficult to achieve face-to-face interaction with all of them. We take advantage of these moments to be with our clients and, at the same time, introduce them to our new services, technologies and other updates. It is also a natural way for us to reach new markets.
