The Expo Transporte 2023, which will take place in Guadalajara on Nov. 15-17, will be the largest in history in terms of visitors, exhibition space, attending countries and economic revenue.

Representatives from the National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor Producers (ANPACT), businesspeople from Jalisco and local authorities at Expo Guadalajara confirmed that 65% of the exhibition spaces at Expo Transporte 2023 have already been sold. Organizers expect an economic revenue of MX$1 billion (US$50 million) from this event, surpassing last edition’s MX$400 million (US$20 million).

After hosting a successful 2022 edition in Puebla, ANPACT’s board of directors selected Expo Guadalajara as the venue for the event in 2023, aiming to contribute to the reactivation of Mexico’s heavy truck industry.

“ANPACT and its associates have set themselves the goal of making this 20th anniversary edition the most successful in all history, offering exhibitors, customers and visitors an unbeatable space to offer and learn about the latest models and innovations for commercial vehicles, urban and foreign public transport, cargo and engines with the latest technologies, as well as a wide variety of products, supplies, logistic and financial services,” said ANPACT in a press release.

The 2023 edition of ANPACT’s Expo Transporte aims to surpass the record of 50,000 attendees reached in 2022 in Puebla, with 445 exhibitors from 31 countries, said Alejandro Osorio, President of the Committee, Expo Transporte 2023.

The first edition of the Expo Transporte took place 26 years ago in Guadalajara. In 1997, the total exhibition area was 14,000mt2, with 9,000 attendees. At the time, Mexico’s heavy vehicle industry had a yearly production of 17,000 units and exported 5,500 heavy vehicles. In 2023, the event will have a 314% larger exhibition area and 455% more visitors, according to the organizers. As ANPACT prepares for the event’s 20th edition, the Mexican heavy vehicle industry closed 2022 with a production of over 200,000 units, 12 times more than in 1997, while exports stood at 160,000 units, 29 times more.

In addition to being the largest heavy vehicle expo in the continent, the Expo Transporte 2023 will also be the forum for discussion and analysis of issues related to mobility, road safety and environmental protection, with an agenda of parallel events that will bring industry leaders, authorities, legislators and civil society together.

The decision to carry out ANPACT’s Expo Transporte 2023 in Guadalajara matches Jalisco’s economic development and industrial growth strategies, says Luis Roberto Arechederra, Jalisco’s Minister of Economic Development.

“Jalisco has a relationship with transportation both from the manufacture of equipment and the provision of services. In addition, the heavy vehicle industry generates 39,000 jobs in the entity. The sector’s gross production amounts to MX$17 billion (US$900 million), positioning itself as the top state in the country,” says Arechederra.
