First Powersports Texan Company expands into Latin America

Texas's first powersports company Volcon announced its expansion into the Mexican, Paraguayan and Costa Rican markets in 2021 as part of its three-phase deployment to sell its vehicles globally.

Volcon is the first all-electric off-road powersports Texas-based company and it is expanding globally through distribution agreements in Latin America, Canada, Europe and Africa in 2022 and Southeast Asia, including Australia, in 2023.

"There is high demand due to our vehicles' ability to explore the outdoors in an eco-friendly fashion, easily navigate challenging backroads, or take family-friendly off-road adventures. These advantages make our vehicles a great fit for the rough and rugged terrain of Latin America, satisfying its electric mobility demand. We believe Latin America and our future international expansion plans will quickly become a large percentage of our annual sales growth simultaneous to receiving global recognition,” said Jordan Davis, Chief Executive Officer, Volcon.

The company is headquartered in Round Rock, Texas, and it conforms to the electric vehicle manufacturing industry near the Austin area, which is expected to become the world’s electric vehicle capital.

Volcon aims to enhance outdoor experiences while contributing to carbon emission reduction as it offers green alternative mobility against conventional gas-powered combustion options. Its business model is based on exporting sales executed through individual importers located throughout the different markets. These exporters buy the company’s vehicles by the container and after sell the products to local dealers or final users. When buying Volcon vehicles through local dealers, the customer receives a warranty and repair services to enjoy backcountry unparalleled exploration.

The company’s first vehicle is called the Grunt and its global shipment began in 2H21. It includes a fat-tire two-wheeled physique, a high-torque electric power, off-road motorcycle with an almost silent-drive benefit.

Volcon is planning the production of its model Runt, an adapted Grunt version aimed at a younger sector with a child-friendly and small-sized design. Other models include four-wheeled vehicles Stag and Beast to enter the expanding market of utility vehicles (UTVs).
