Q: What are CM Logistics’ core differentiators in the highly competitive and globalized logistics market?

A: CM Logistics is a 100% Mexican freight forwarder focused on innovation. Our main differentiator is our young and driven team — 75% of our staff is under 30, bringing fresh ideas, adaptability, and a strong desire to grow. This blend of youth, hands-on experience, and theoretical knowledge allows us to deliver agile, creative logistics solutions in an increasingly competitive market.

Our process starts long before a shipment is booked. We build strong, face-to-face partnerships with trusted agents across regions like Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, ensuring they meet our standards for transparency, compliance, and reliability. This allows us to offer clients pre-negotiated rates and seamless service from the point of origin. We work closely with suppliers and agents, studying their operations in-depth to manage cargo readiness and secure space at least two weeks in advance. Throughout the shipment, clients receive real-time updates via both technology and dedicated account managers.

We have also embraced blockchain-based systems integrated with terminals, carriers, and airlines, providing accurate, real-time visibility and predictive insights for every shipment. This proactive, tech-driven approach ensures a reliable, worry-free logistics experience.

Q: How do your financial services facilitate smoother transactions and reduce working capital constraints for clients?

A: Our expertise goes beyond logistics; we also bring deep knowledge of international trade finance. Our experience in major banks and mentorship from industry leaders allows us to understand the financial side of global trade. We support clients not only with logistics but also with document guarantees, letters of credit, and advisory services. This integration helps prevent operational delays caused by document discrepancies and ensures smoother, faster transactions. Our financial guidance is always offered as added value, helping clients optimize both their supply chain and cash flow.

Q: What are the main challenges your clients face, and how does your company address them?

A: Security is a top concern in Mexico, given the country’s vast geography, regulatory complexity, and safety risks. Our clients — mainly in the manufacturing and maquiladora sectors — face challenges not only with security, but also with communication and trust in their logistics partners.

We have focused on building close, reliable relationships with our clients. By understanding their operations in depth, often even anticipating their logistics needs, we are able to deliver tailored, secure, and timely solutions. What sets us apart is that sense of trust, proactive communication, and a service approach that truly understands their pain points.

Q: What industries do you primarily serve, and how do you support clients’ specific logistics needs?

A: We focus mainly on the plastics industry, one of the largest and most dynamic in Mexico. Despite growing environmental concerns, this sector continues to innovate, especially in packaging, labeling, and bottle manufacturing. We support clients not only with raw material shipments but also with urgent deliveries, often under 24 hours, to avoid plant shutdowns. In this industry, any delay can disrupt the entire supply chain, impacting product availability on store shelves. That is why we provide fast, reliable logistics solutions tailored to the critical needs of this sector.

Q: What green practices is CM Logistics incorporating, such as fleet modernization, digital optimization, or emissions tracking?

A: CM Logistics actively tracks the carbon footprint of every container we import. Our system calculates emissions per shipment and translates that data into relatable metrics, such as the equivalent number of idling cars, to raise awareness.

We also operate our own fleet for first and last-mile delivery, prioritizing newer vehicles. For example, a 2025 model truck emits up to 75% fewer pollutants compared to older models still in circulation. Inspired by innovations seen in countries like China, where electric trucks are already pulling full containers, we are committed to adopting cleaner technologies and modernizing our fleet as part of our sustainability roadmap.

Q: How is CM Logistics leveraging technology and AI to improve operations?

A: We have a modern, tech-driven team that actively integrates AI into its operations. Our trucks are equipped with smart cameras that detect driver fatigue, distractions like phone use, and unsafe driving behavior, helping us improve safety and reduce environmental impact through better driving practices.

Beyond fleet monitoring, our systems use data analytics and predictive algorithms to optimize logistics. For maritime shipments, we can forecast ideal departure times, choose more reliable carriers, and anticipate delays. This tech-enabled approach not only boosts efficiency and safety but also supports our sustainability goals by minimizing waste and emissions.

Q: What steps is CM Logistics taking to lead in compliance and security?

A: Our key differentiator is integrality in our end-to-end logistics solutions across maritime, air, and now domestic ground transport. We began with ocean freight due to strong import demand from Asia, the European Union, and the Middle East. Over time, we expanded into last-mile and national distribution to address inefficiencies in Mexico’s fragmented and often informal transport sector.

Clients increasingly seek a single, reliable partner for everything from supplier inspections at origin, to shipping, customs, and final delivery. That is the integrated service model we offer.

We are also leading on compliance and security. As one of the first five freight forwarders in Mexico pursuing an Authorized Economic Operator (OEA) certification, which is traditionally limited to carriers and customs brokers, we are pushing for legal recognition of forwarders as key orchestrators of the supply chain, not just service intermediaries.

Q: How is CM Logistics helping clients navigate uncertain tariff situations, and what opportunities are being explored to enhance resilience?

A: CM Logistics is guiding clients to explore new markets, particularly focusing on exports, which many industries have yet to fully leverage. We have been encouraging clients to consider neighboring Latin American countries and regions in the East for export opportunities. Exporting can often be 50% to 100% cheaper than importing, especially with maritime freight, where there is greater space availability and favorable conditions. This strategy helps diversify their operations and reduce dependence on the traditional import-focused model.

Q: How is CM Logistics adapting to the challenges posed by tariffs in international trade?

A: The uncertainty around tariffs presents a challenge for many industries. CM Logistics has focused on helping clients explore new markets, especially in exports. We are guiding clients to consider markets in Latin America and Asia, rather than relying solely on national distribution. Diversifying trade routes and markets, alongside adapting to tariff fluctuations, is key to mitigating risks and ensuring a more resilient supply chain.

Q: How does CM Logistics envision the future of the logistics and transportation industry?

A: In the short term, we foresee a slight contraction in the industry, with increased competition from small and medium-sized forwarders. CM Logistics is adapting to market demands by integrating last-mile distribution and strengthening our terrestrial transport capabilities. The OEA certification will allow us to enhance safety and efficiency in logistics. While a contraction is expected, overcoming this phase will position Mexico as a global leader in logistics by 2030-2035, making it a key player in international trade.

CM Logistics strongly believes in the potential of Latin America, particularly due to its geographical proximity and shared language. We aim to foster infrastructure development and streamline administrative and customs processes across the region. However, there is a need for better regional unity and understanding. By unifying the countries of Latin America, we can create a powerful force in the global market. Supporting Mexico and Mexican businesses is key, especially as we continue to face foreign competition, so it is essential for the country to collaborate more and embrace a growth mindset. The logistics industry must evolve and adapt to the future.

Q: What are CM Logistics’ primary strategic objectives for 2025, and what milestones would define success for the company?

A: In 2025, CM Logistics aims to expand its fleet and diversify its services. Key milestones include launching our own fleet at ports and offering in-house customs agency services, eliminating the need for third-party providers. In the medium term, international expansion is a priority, particularly in Latin America. We see significant growth potential in the region, from Mexico to Argentina, where logistics expertise and production capabilities are strong, and the market is ripe for growth. If we successfully execute these initiatives, 2025 will be considered a successful year for CM Logistics.
