UPS has redesigned its air routes in Mexico to benefit several companies and industries. Starting the second week of November, UPS will increase its aerial capacity for deliveries by 35% in Nuevo Leon and 100% in Queretaro.

Through a press release, UPS announced the redesign, which is part of its efforts to boost the internationalization of Mexican SMEs. The logistics giant aims to create alternatives to satisfy the export needs of industries large and small in Mexico. Through this move, UPS increased its capacity for clients seeking to export from Nuevo Leon and Queretaro, meeting the increasing demand of delivery services and strengthening the company’s presence in strategic regions.

Erika Ceciliano, Director of Operations and Customs, UPS Mexico, says that this aerial redesign showcases UPS’ continuous commitment of offering world-class logistics solutions to help SMEs to grow and succeed. “Our investment in this strategic region strengthens our presence and capacity to better serve our clients,” says Ceciliano.

Francisco Ricaurte, President, UPS Latin America, tells MBN that the company built its operations around three essential components: customers, people, and shareholders, aiming to provide better export services. Ricaurte adds that the company launched the "Ayuda PyMEs" program, which supports SMEs in areas they might not be familiar with. He says that SMEs know how to manufacture a product, but might not have experience in logistics and distribution. Thus, supporting them in these aspects has been crucial.

UPS adds that the redesign comes in preparation of an upcoming season of high demand. The company is also hiring thousands of temporary workers in the country to attend to the increasing demand for shipment orders.
