As Mexico’s oil and gas industry continues to follow an increasingly steep curve of recovery from the setbacks experienced in 2020 and 2021, a new reality is emerging: oil prices have not only gone back to pre-2020 levels, they have recovered to pre-2014 levels, climbing north of US$100/b.

Meanwhile, Mexico’s main private operators have consolidated the newly productive phases of their contractual areas. Early production stages gave way to strategies for gradual production increases and an uptick in drilling activity. Field development operations have been accelerated, as operators continue to seek new ways to increase local content levels in the development of project infrastructure. Private companies are also working closely with PEMEX to manage the commercialization of their production while exploring new ways to grow beyond this partnership in the future.

PEMEX continued to receive support from the Ministry of Energy and the federal government to reduce its debt, including payments owed to suppliers and service providers, which is stimulating Mexico’s oil and gas SME environment. The NOC demonstrated a successful exploration approach while focusing on redirecting its upstream activities to further integrate with the country’s hydrocarbon value chain.

These and other developments are what makes 2022 a unique year for Mexico’s oil and gas industry. Growth and development are about to take on new shapes and those interested in deepening their involvement will need to be close to the industry’s key decision makers.

Therefore, Mexico Business is proud to extend an invitation to Mexico Oil & Gas Summit 2022, the ninth edition of its flagship gathering of the industry’s most important leaders and investors. A ticket to Mexico Oil & Gas Summit 2022 will grant you access to the sector’s most important discussions and the stakeholders that are defining them. Taking place on July 13, 14 and 15, in the week immediately following the Mexican Petroleum Congress (CMP), the summit will provide space to develop new business opportunities.

Mexico Oil & Gas Summit 2022 will bring together the public and private sectors of the industry in a way that will prove informative to one of Mexico’s most complex and economically relevant industries. The energy transition will also be discussed, as part of a broader invitation for all attendants to consider the various paths toward the industry’s future.
