The National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) and the Government of Campeche have signed a Collaboration Agreement to promote activities related to the hydrocarbon sector in the state.

The agreement was signed between Agustín Díaz Lastra, President Commissioner, CNH, and Carlos Adrián García Basto, General Director, Campeche State Energy Agency (AEEC), and is valid for four years. It involves the development of national content and coordination between the CNH and AEEC to support the growth and development of Campeche and the exchange of knowledge through work meetings, forums and workshops.

“Specialists in the oil and hydrocarbons field are not mistaken when they see Campeche as a place where their investments will bear fruit, because they are not planting in vain," says Layda Sansores San Román, Governor, Campeche.

Campeche plays a key role in national hydrocarbon production, says Díaz. Throughout 2023, the state has been contributing 949,000 barrels per day of liquid hydrocarbons to national production, he adds.

“The state of Campeche has great participation in the hydrocarbon sector since 86% of its income comes from the extraction of oil and gas… As a result, governments have created programs to develop suppliers and encourage them to connect with operators and contractors on essential projects where Mexican companies can truly demonstrate their technological capabilities,” says Rodolfo Alfonso Esquivel, Director General, Grupo Roales.
