Oil production increased 1.35% in February 2023 against numbers from January 2022. Among private players, the Italian company ENI beat Hockchi as the main producer, supported by its Amoca, Mizton and Teocalli projects.

ENI deployed its Miamte FPSO in 2022 in the aforementioned fields, increasing production by 102% the following month. The company has reported an all-time high production of 26.44Mb/d. According to Bloomberg, 80 percent of private production is carried out by Eni, Fieldwood and Hokchi.

Fieldwood Energy’s Ichalkil and Pokoch reported another fall in production, resulting in a 13.150MB/d output. According to Carlos Morales, CEO, PetroBal, the industry’s lack of supply of jack-up platforms has affected the company’s joint operations with Fieldwood Energy. Nevertheless, the latter stated that it plans to add 7Mb/d by putting another one of its wells under repair online. The company also plans to drill more wells at the Ichalkil field.

The third field with the highest production is El Santuario - El Golpe, operated by Petrofac, which reached production of 17.772MB/d. The Ek Balam field, operated by PEMEX Exploration and Production, continues to hold the title for highest oil production in the country, with a daily output of 101.328Mb/d.

ENI Launches “Sustainable Supply Chain Finance” Program for Sustainable Companies

ENI is teaming up with several banks to launch a program that will enable companies in its supply chain to optimize their liquidity management, while incentivizing improvements to their ESG profile. “With this new program, ENI is strengthening its support strategy for companies by offering concrete tools for creating long-term value, while emphasizing the importance of involving the entire supply chain toward a path of sustainable growth,” announced the company.

According to ENI, this new digital and sustainability-related model, in addition to the “Basket Bond - Sustainable Energy” program, is designed for Eni suppliers to receive advance payments from the scheme’s financial partners.

ENI’s suppliers will also be able to access this program thanks to collaboration with FinDynamic's technology, Crédit Agricole and UniCredit. “By joining the Sustainable Supply Chain Finance Program, suppliers will have the possibility to request advance payment of invoices issued to ENI through the fintech digital platform,” said the company.
