Amid increasing oil prices and a business environment marked by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the most important leaders of the biggest oil companies in Mexico will join the Mexico Oil & Gas Summit 2022 ECHO (MOGS2022 ECHO) to discuss the challenges they are facing and how they are overcoming these problems.

The COVID-19 pandemic, the resulting supply chain challenges and the conflict in Ukraine are important factors impacting the industry today. Oil companies, like corporations of other sectors, have seen themselves forced to change the way they operate. Operators, service providers and investors have gone through a period of uncertainty but are now looking to ramp up activity.

The slow recovery of the oil and gas production after the pandemic exacerbates global natural gas supply issues. After the worst parts of the pandemic, “the demand started building up faster than the supply,” said Susana Cazorla, Consulting Partner, SICEnrgy.

With this increasing demand for resources and companies recovering pre-pandemic operational levels, companies have found themselves needing to work together toward a stronger, more resilient oil and gas industry.

Despite the obstacles, industry leaders have expressed their optimism for the industry in the coming decade, motivated by steadily developing projects and positive expected production. What is more, Mexico’s plan to increase national production is a boon for the industry and motivates service suppliers and contractors to double down on the country’s market fundamentals.

Another important industry topic is sustainability. Alfredo Álvarez, Energy Leader, EY Latin America North wrote in an article for MBN that most of the leading international and national oil companies are implementing corporate governance focused on sustainability, seeking a balance between business, environment and society. This is furthered in decision-making at the highest level.

During Mexico Oil & Gas Summit 2022 ECHO, the drivers of Mexico’s industry will debate these and many other trends surrounding the transformation of the sector. A ticket to Mexico Oil & Gas Summit will grant you access to the sector’s most important discussions and the stakeholders that are defining them. The event will take place on Sept. 21 and 22, 2022, while also providing space to develop new business opportunities. The summit will bring together the public and private sectors of the industry in a way that will prove informative to one of Mexico’s most complex and economically relevant industries.
