PEMEX Completes Pipeline Repair And Cleanup in Veracruz
PEMEX has successfully completed repairs on a pipeline affected by extraordinary rainfall in northern Veracruz, following a containment breach that impacted approximately 8km near Álamo Temapache. The company immediately activated its industrial and environmental safety protocols to address the incident.
In coordination with the Mexican Navy, the Energy and Environmental Security Agency (ASEA), and local and state authorities, Pemex deployed two containment barriers, oleophilic booms, and pumping and surface recovery equipment along the Pantepec River. With the main operations concluded, cleanup and remediation efforts are ongoing along riverbanks and nearby areas. Three additional barriers are scheduled for installation today, while specialized personnel continue waste collection, absorbent application, and environmental restoration to recover natural conditions.
All response activities are being managed through the Unified Command Post at the Tuxpan National Port System (Asipona), bringing together federal, state, and local authorities to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach.
PEMEX reaffirmed its commitment to community safety, environmental protection, and responsible emergency response, emphasizing the well-being of local populations and the preservation of natural resources as top priorities.
