PEMEX Ranks Third in Ethics and Anti-Corruption Index

PEMEX made third place among Mexico’s largest companies in ethical performance and anti-corruption practices, according to the 2024 edition of the Corporate Integrity Index (IC-500). The NOC received a score of 96.1 in the latest evaluation.

The IC-500 assesses the Top 500 companies in Mexico based on publicly available information on their websites. This includes ethical codes, anti-corruption policies, organizational structure, operational activities, and financial results.

In addition to the IC-500 ranking, PEMEX also showed progress in public perception. It moved from 19th to 12th place in the National Survey on Corruption and Impunity 2019–2024, a national survey that tracks citizens' views on corruption and integrity among major institutions and companies.

PEMEX attributes these improvements to internal efforts such as its PEMEX Cumple program, which promotes ethical values, legal compliance, accountability, transparency and data protection through human capital development.

As a state-owned enterprise, PEMEX continues to implement measures aimed at reinforcing internal controls, impartiality and ethical responsibility across its operations, reports the company.
