PEMEX Recovers 1.6 million L of Hydrocarbons in Veracruz Spill
PEMEX announced ongoing efforts to address the leak in its 30in Poza Rica-Madero pipeline in Alamo Temapache, Veracruz. To date, 1.602 million L of hydrocarbons have been recovered from 10 strategic points along the Pantepec River and its tributaries.
The response involves a coordinated operation of 755 personnel from PEMEX, the Mexican Navy (SEMAR), the Energy and Environmental Safety Agency (ASEA), and the Veracruz state government, working continuously to mitigate the environmental impact.
As part of the emergency support, 657 food packages, 40 water tanks, and 6,384 bottled waters were distributed today, with three water trucks providing potable water. Since the start of the incident, PEMEX has delivered 7,470 food packages, 527 water tanks, 14,242 bottles of water, and eight 45,000L water trucks to affected communities.
In addition, PEMEX expanded its social support measures with the deployment of a fourth Mobile Medical Unit (UMM) in Poza Rica to provide primary healthcare services. On Oct. 25, the units operated in the localities of Agua Nacida, Kilometro 33, and Doctor Montes de Oca.
All recovery and social support activities are conducted under strict environmental protocols and in close coordination with local communities, reaffirming PEMEX’s commitment to public safety, environmental protection, and collaboration with federal and state authorities.
