PEMEX to Renovate Deer Park Refinery's Largest Unit
PEMEX is preparing to renovate a large block of its Deer Park refinery in Texas. The project is scheduled to begin in early October and is expected to take around 60 days to complete.
The renovation will focus on the refinery's largest crude distillation unit, DU-2, which has a capacity of 270Mbp/d. The DU-2 unit will be shut down for the work. While DU-2 is offline, several other units will also be out of service due to a lack of feedstock, including the 70Mb/d fluid catalytic cracking unit, the 70Mb/D hydrocracking unit, and the 92Mb/d coker. The other crude distillation unit, DU-1, with a capacity of 70Mb/d, is expected to remain operational during the renovation project.
