On Sept. 5, 2018, CNH will auction blocks containing unconventional resources. The nine blocks on offer make up a total area of 2,704km2, 43 percent of the land awarded during onshore Rounds 1.3, 2.2 and 2.3 combined. The fields contain 1.2 brillion boe in prospective resources, a 278 percent increase on
the 436 million boe awarded in the 46 blocks in those rounds.
Round 3.3 will be a first for the country, with 95 percent of the resources, accounting for 1.16 brillion boe, considered unconventional. This figure is 4 percent of the total amount of unconventional onshore resources included in the Ministry of Energy’s updated Five-Year-Plan for 2017-2021.
