Activist Ceci Flores Disappearance. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that the federal government is carrying out an operation to locate activist Ceci Flores, Founder, Madres Buscadoras de Sonora y de México, who was reported missing in the state of Sinaloa.

Ceci Flores is a renowned activist from Northern Mexico. She has six children, two of whom are missing, which is why she started the Madres Buscadoras collective. Her son Alejandro disappeared along with his boss in 2015 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. Four years later, in 2019, her sons Marco Antonio and Jesús Adrián were kidnapped by members of a cartel. Ceci Flores identified those responsible for the kidnapping and threatened one of them to return her children. Days later, Jesús Adrián, aged 15, was released. The whereabouts of Marco Antonio are still unknown.

SEP Launches Campaign Against Drug Addictions. The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) launched the national campaign, "If you do drugs, you harm yourself," at middle schools and high schools throughout the country, to inform about the harm caused by the consumption of substances such as fentanyl, methamphetamines, alcohol and even e-cigarettes.

During the morning conference, authorities presented a manual for teachers to provide information three times a week to more than 11 million students in 62,000 schools. This manual features information about eight different substances.

According to SEP's strategy, for 15 minutes, at least three times a week, teachers should provide students with information about the risks of drug use. The governor of Colima mentioned that to combat society’s main problems, their root causes must be addressed, which is why the state has promoted programs to prevent school dropout.

Mexico Already Bought the Medicines Needed for This and Next Year: AMLO. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated that his administration has already secured the purchase of medications for this year and the next. Furthermore, he made it clear that his government saved MX$48 billion (US$2.6 million) in the purchase of medications.

The Mexican president once again pointed out that the country will have a healthcare system "better than that of Denmark" and he attacked some media outlets, which he accused of being part of the mafia that previously sold medications to the federal government.
