Plan against inflation. President López Obrador said last year the cost of fuels decreased. Moreover, he mentioned that his plan against inflation proposed will continue.

In May 2022, the president introduced a plan to fight Mexico’s inflation, which is affecting the cost of basic food products such as milk, rice and bread. The plan considers an increase in grain production and support for fertilizer distribution. Building a strategic corn reserve using resources from the Mexican Food Security (SEGALMEX) organization is also part of the plan, as well as guaranteeing stable prices for corn, beans, rice and milk. Other features include safety reinforcement measures at highways to prevent food and supplies theft.  Finally, major telecommunication providers Telmex and Telcel did not raise the cost of telephone and internet services for the remainder of the year, according to an official press release.

Investment to improve urban areas. Deputy Minister of Agricultural and Territorial Regulation, Edna Elena Vega Rangel, announced that the government has invested more than MX$32 billion to improve urban infrastructure after damages caused by earthquakes.
