Aviation Safety. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador criticized US authorities for being "very demanding" for Mexico to regain its Category 1 ranking in aviation safety.

On May 25, 2021, the FAA downgraded Mexico's aviation safety to Category 2 due to the redesign of the airspace in the Mexico Valley. This was one of the modifications that led to the construction and operation of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), inaugurated on March 21, 2022, after three years of construction.

Since the end of January, the Mexican government has been receiving technical assistance from the FAA to prepare the country to regain the Category 1 ranking as soon as possible. Due to the loss of this rating, Mexico has been unable to open new routes to the US since May 2021.

Supreme Court Protest. President López Obrador referred to those who marched on Sunday in support of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) as "arrogant."

During the protest, some of the supporters reached the SCJN building and removed an encampment that had been set up in front of the headquarters. AMLO stated that they should have respected the group opposing the Supreme Court and that the use of violence to impose their views indicated a lack of reason.

This march comes in response to the constant attacks by the federal government, led by President López Obrador and figures from Morena, against the Supreme Court and the Judicial Power. Accusations of privileges and conflicts of interest have escalated following the annulment of the first part of the 'Plan B' of the Electoral Reform.

Video of Killed Migrants. President López Obrador voiced his disagreement to withholding the videos related to the fire that killed 40 migrants at a National Institute of Migration (INM) facility in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. He promised that justice will be served. Moreover, he mentioned that an investigation is underway and that there are already detainees.

López Obrador affirmed that the fire was a "very regrettable tragedy." However, he guaranteed that "those responsible are being punished," both the ones who started the fire and the authorities accountable for the tragedy.

The president claimed to be unaware that videos of the events leading up to the fire had been concealed but asserted that he is always in favor of disclosing information and not hiding anything. Following the tragedy, a dozen people have been arrested, while the director of the INM, Francisco Garduño, has been linked to the legal process. The Office of the Attorney General (FGR) accuses Garduño of neglecting his duties regarding his role in the events. However, Garduño remains free and has not resigned from his position.

Meanwhile, President López Obrador has justified on several occasions Garduño's continued role as the head of the INM. Nevertheless, he has promised that no one will be protected and justice will be served.
